The Cons of Medically Emancipating a Minor are as follows:
Overview on issue-Con:
The freedom of youth in America is slowly but surely beginning to get out of hand. The decisions that minors are allowed should be limited-especially when it comes to their best interest. Medical decisions are nothing to play around with, especially when it comes to other people’s lives, including their own. Minors today are allowed a large voice in our society, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Everyone’s opinions and values are treated equally and seen as important, but it is crucial to be able to decipher when it comes to the minor’s best interest.
Why Minors Should Not be Medically Emancipated-
-Minor cannot act in any position in an organization which is involved with the setting
of policy, the enforcement of bylaw or the handling of the treasury
-does nothing except validate the minor's signature on personal contracts
-cannot abrogate any criminal law
-process is often long, difficult and occasionally tortuous, and has been compared in some circles to the process required for a difficult divorce

Innocent-Taylor Swift
I guess you really did it this time
Left yourself in your warpath
Lost your balance on a tightrope
Lost your mind tryin' to get it back
Wasn't it easier in your lunchbox days?
Always a bigger bed to crawl into
Wasn't it beautiful when you believed in everything
And everybody believed in you?
It's alright, just wait and see
Your string of lights is still bright to me
Oh, who you are is not where you've been.
You're still an innocent,
You're still an innocent.
Did some things you can't speak of
But at night you live it all again
You wouldn't be shattered on the floor now
If only you would seen what you know now then
Wasn't it easier in your firefly-catchin' days?
When everything out of reach, someone bigger brought down to you
Wasn't it beautiful runnin' wild 'til you fell asleep
Before the monsters caught up to you?
It's alright, just wait and see
Your string of lights is still bright to me
Oh, who you are is not where you've been
You're still an innocent
It's okay, life is a tough crowd
32, and still growin' up now
Who you are is not what you did.
You're still an innocent.
Time turns flames to embers
You'll have new Septembers
Every one of us has messed up too
Lives change like the weather
I hope you remember
Today is never too late to be brand new
It's alright, just wait and see
Your string of lights is still bright to me
Oh, who you are is not where you've been
You're still an innocent.
It's okay, life is a tough crowd
32, and still growin' up now
Who you are is not what you did
You're still an innocent.
You're still an innocent.
Lost your balance on a tightrope.
It's never too late to get it back.
This is a powerful song written by Swift, capturing the mistakes made by her peers. It expresses how adolescence is easy to make mistakes, but innocence sweeps away their wrongs. When children are young it is easy for them to jump onto an idea and easily be persuaded by each others opinions. I find this ironic because often being Medically Emancipated is an independent thing to do. While growing up, and children in general are prone to rely on others-anyone but themselves. It would take a fool to believe that a minor would know what is best for them, especially when under the influence of so many different possible circumstances.
